This HSAM2 3-flute long carbide end mill has a 0.25 in \ 1/4" cutting diameter, with a 1/4" smooth shank, 3/8" length of cut (LOC), 0.01" radius and a 4" overall length. The extended shank tapers down to a 0.22" neck diameter, with a 1-1/4" neck length. It is uncoated and is made to cut aluminum/non-ferrous materials. This end mill is designed to center-cut The addition of chip splitters along the length of the flutes can reduce chip length by up to 2/3, which results in better surface finishes, the prevention of chip recutting, and dramatically improved chip evacuation.
